The Cloquet Area Fire District is committed to our community's safety which is why we are proud to offer Home Safety Visits. FREE smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are provided, and radon test kits and Stovetop Firestop extinguishers are also available upon request. This service is currently available to homeowners within the District's fire protection area.
During these visits a public educator will examine existing units to determine if they need to be replaced as well as ensure proper placement. New smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors will be provided as needed and installed by our staff. The homeowner will also receive education on fire safety within the home along with how to maintain/test their alarms/detectors.
The District's mission is to "..enhance the safety and improve the quality of life within the communities we serve." We believe that home safety visits are a powerful and effective tool to help us achieve our mission.
We have proudly partnered with the American Red Cross, the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association and the Minnesota Department of Health. We would also like to thank the Bush Foundation, Minnesota Power, KwikTrip, Sappi and USG for their support in providing donations to this program.
Please check out our Event Calendar for upcoming installation dates, or submit a request form to be put on the list and we will contact you to schedule an appointment. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our Public Education Coordinator, Sarah Buhs at (218) 499-4258 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
