| CAFD Responds to Crash Involving an Ambulance |

On Friday May 7, 2010 the first snow since February caused numerous traffic accidents in the area including one involving an ambulance. The CAFD answered a call for mulitple Medic units at a vehicle accident on Hwy 2 at the St. Louis River Bridge. The accident involved an ambulance that was traveling east bound and transporting a patient to a hospital in Duluth. The ambulance overturned and hit the gaurd rail on the bridge resulting in fatal injuries to one person and non-life threatening injuries to the two EMS providers. Two people were transported to Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital by Medic units 9 & 12.
