Members of CAFD and other local department participated in natural gas training sponsered by MINNESOTA ENERGY.
Firefighters recieved training and other valuable information on fighting and controling gas fires and leaks.

Fire crews responded to a report of a fire in a basement located @ 208 Carlton Avenue West. Upon arrival smoke was visible from the rear of the single story structure. Crews quickly located the fire in a basement bathroom and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported an dcrews were on scene for 1 1/2 hours. Cause of the fire is currently under investigation. |

The four day gathering of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club ended uneventfully for the CAFD. CAFD units received no emergency calls related to the event, and had only one interacton with the group.
While performing a safety stand-by at the burnout competion held on Dunlap Island Saturday evening, two H.A. members talked with Capt. Chad Vermeersch (Left) and firefighter Mike Garberg (right) regarding the similar interests in our "colors" red and black.

Station 1 Probationary Firefighter Cody DeBondt extinguished his first 911 initiated fire recently. Cody, wearing full PPE, expertly conducted an interior attack on a structure fire in Veteran’s Park. The fire, of suspicious origin, was confined to the one building and resulted in a major loss to the interior furnishings and contents of the structure.

CAFD personnel from Stations 1 and 2 participated in a live burn training exercise on Saturday June 13, 2009 at 102 Ketola Road. Staff participated in Level 1 and Level 2 burns along with drafting and pump operations. Instruction was provided by F.I.R.E. inc. |

On Saturday June 13, CAFD A shift from station 1 responded to a crane type wood moving machine on fire. Upon arrival the engine compartment had heavy fire, and the boom of the machine was pinning a tractor trailer full of logs. The crew quickly extinguished the fire limiting the damage mostly to the engine compartment. |
