Petco Foundation Invests in Cloquet Area Fire District’s Life-Changing Work By Supporting Service, Therapy and/or Working Animals

Investment of $3,000 will extend efforts to help pets and people in Cloquet Area Fire District’s service area live their best lives

Cloquet, Minnesota 7/2019 – Cloquet Area Fire District of Cloquet announced it has been awarded a $3,000 grant investment from the Petco Foundation to support its Arson K9, Wish.

The Petco Foundation investment will help to support ongoing costs for our Arson K9 program including training, recertification, veterinary costs and food.

“This grant supports our Arson K9 program which is important not only to the Cloquet Area Fire District but to surrounding agencies throughout the State of Minnesota as Wish is the only certified arson K9 in the state,” said Jason Maki, Fire Investigator/K9 Handler.

This grant was made possible through the Petco Foundation’s annual Helping Heroes fundraising campaign. Each October during the campaign, Petco customers are invited to donate online and in Petco stores across the country to support the life-changing work of service, therapy and working animals.

The Cloquet Area Fire District is a nonprofit organization that provides unified fire protection, rescue and emergency medical services to enhance the safety and improve the quality of life within the communities they serve in Cloquet and surrounding areas since 2009.
